ACRODANCE is a style of acrobats used specifically for dancers. It is a genre of dance which incorporates elements of gymnastics, jazz, balance, tumbling and basic contortion. Students learn Acrobatic tricks such as handstands, cartwheels, chest stands, elbow stands, walkovers and partnering poses and tricks. Trick movements are usually executed slowly to emphasize gracefulness, body lines and picturesque extensions. Acrodance offers more depth and variety to your choreography and creates a much more versatile dancer. To master Acrodance, students must develop a god foundation of strength and flexibility, this emphasis is placed on extensive conditioning, stretch and strength training. When students learning new tricks, the instructor utilizes professional spotting techniques which is necessary to ensure safety and build confidence. A beginner Acrodance student generally takes about two years to develop a strong foundation before they see great results of their hard work. Once a solid foundation is achieved it is surprising to see how confident students become while achieving their goals safely and effectively.
STRENGTH & TECHNIQUES classes give our competitive dancers the opportunity to work on their individual functional strength and detail to the precise positioning of their core, pays attention to turns and balance, and overall poise.
